Ramjet

A ramjet is a type of air-breathing jet engine that uses the vehicle's forward motion to compress incoming air without an axial compressor. Ramjets have no moving parts and are therefore much simpler than turbojets and turbofans. They are capable of operating at very high speeds, up to Mach 6, and are used in high-speed missiles and experimental aircraft. Ramjets are not suitable for takeoff and low-speed flight, as they require a high velocity to compress the incoming air. They are also not capable of producing thrust at zero velocity, which limits their use in space applications.
