Air-breathing Jet Engine
An air-breathing jet engine is a type of engine that uses atmospheric air as the oxidizer to burn fuel, allowing it to operate in the Earth's atmosphere. It compresses the air, mixes it with fuel, and ignites the mixture to produce thrust. The most common types of air-breathing jet engines are turbojet, turbofan, and ramjet engines. Turbojet engines are used in high-speed aircraft, while turbofan engines are used in commercial airliners. Ramjet engines are used in missiles and other high-speed vehicles. Air-breathing jet engines are not effective in space because they require atmospheric air to operate.
