Ramjets
Ramjets are a type of air-breathing jet engine that operates on the principle of the Brayton cycle. They are designed to operate at supersonic speeds and do not require any moving parts to compress the incoming air. Instead, they use the forward motion of the engine to compress the air and mix it with fuel, which is then ignited to produce thrust. Ramjets are most effective at speeds above Mach 3 and are commonly used in missiles and other unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) that require high speed and maneuverability. However, they are not suitable for use in manned aircraft due to their limited range and inability to operate at low speeds.
