Electric Field

In space and astronautical engineering, an electric field is a force field that surrounds electrically charged particles and exerts force on other charged particles in the vicinity. Electric fields are an important consideration in spacecraft design and operation, as they can interfere with sensitive electronic equipment and affect the behavior of plasma in the surrounding space environment. Electric fields can be generated by a variety of sources, including charged spacecraft surfaces, plasma thrusters, and natural phenomena such as lightning and solar flares. Engineers must carefully consider the effects of electric fields on spacecraft systems and take steps to mitigate their impact.
