Structural Engineering
Structural Engineering is a branch of engineering that deals with the design, analysis, and construction of structures that support or resist loads. In the context of space and astronautical engineering, structural engineering is concerned with the design and analysis of spacecraft, launch vehicles, and other space-related structures. This includes the design of the structural components of the spacecraft, such as the frame, skin, and internal supports, as well as the analysis of the loads that the spacecraft will experience during launch, in orbit, and during re-entry. Structural engineers in the space and astronautical field must also consider the effects of extreme temperatures, radiation, and other environmental factors on the structural integrity of the spacecraft.
