Structural Components

Structural components refer to the elements that make up the physical structure of a spacecraft or a space station. These components are designed to withstand the harsh conditions of space, including extreme temperatures, radiation, and micrometeoroids. Structural components include the frame, the skin, and the internal support structures. The frame provides the basic shape and rigidity of the spacecraft, while the skin protects the internal components from the external environment. The internal support structures, such as trusses and struts, distribute the loads and stresses throughout the spacecraft. Structural components are critical to the success of any space mission, as they ensure the safety and integrity of the spacecraft and its crew.
