Photosynthesis

Photosynthesis is the process by which green plants and some other organisms use sunlight to synthesize foods with the help of chlorophyll and other pigments. In this process, carbon dioxide and water are converted into glucose and oxygen. The process of photosynthesis takes place in the chloroplasts of plant cells. The energy from sunlight is absorbed by the chlorophyll and is used to convert carbon dioxide and water into glucose and oxygen. The glucose produced is used by the plant as a source of energy and the oxygen is released into the atmosphere. Photosynthesis is an important process for life on Earth as it is the primary source of energy for most living organisms.
