Merlin Engines

Merlin Engines are a family of rocket engines developed by SpaceX for use on their Falcon 1, Falcon 9, and Falcon Heavy launch vehicles. They are powered by liquid oxygen (LOX) and rocket-grade kerosene (RP-1) propellants and are designed for high performance, reusability, and reliability. The engines use a gas generator cycle and are regeneratively cooled, meaning that fuel is circulated around the engine to keep it from overheating. Merlin engines have undergone several upgrades over the years, including increased thrust and improved efficiency. They are named after the Merlin, a species of falcon.
