Magnetic Confinement Fusion

Magnetic Confinement Fusion is a method of producing nuclear fusion that uses magnetic fields to confine the plasma in a toroidal shape. The plasma is heated to millions of degrees Celsius, causing the atomic nuclei to collide and fuse, releasing energy. The magnetic fields are created by superconducting coils that surround the plasma, and the shape of the magnetic field is carefully controlled to keep the plasma stable and prevent it from touching the walls of the containment vessel. Magnetic Confinement Fusion is a promising technology for producing clean, sustainable energy, but it is still in the experimental stage and faces many technical challenges.
