
Longitudinal Stability
Longitudinal stability is the inherent quality of an aircraft to return to its original pitch attitude after a disturbance. It is an important characteristic of an aircraft's flight dynamics as it affects the aircraft's ability to maintain a steady flight path and altitude. Longitudinal stability is achieved through the proper placement of the wing and tail surfaces, as well as the location of the aircraft's center of gravity.
