Comet
A comet is a small celestial body that orbits the Sun and is composed of ice, dust, and rocky particles. As a comet approaches the Sun, its ice begins to vaporize, creating a glowing coma and a tail that can extend millions of kilometers into space. The study of comets is important for understanding the early solar system and the origins of life on Earth. Spacecraft have been sent to study comets up close, including the European Space Agency's Rosetta mission, which landed a probe on the surface of comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko in 2014. Comets can also pose a potential threat to Earth if they collide with our planet, although the likelihood of this happening is very low.
