Vibration Mitigation

Vibration mitigation is the process of reducing or eliminating unwanted vibrations in spacecraft and launch vehicles. Vibrations can be caused by a variety of factors, including engine combustion, structural resonances, and aerodynamic forces. These vibrations can cause damage to sensitive equipment, affect the performance of experiments, and even endanger the mission. Vibration mitigation techniques include passive methods such as adding damping materials to the structure, and active methods such as using control systems to counteract the vibrations. The goal of vibration mitigation is to ensure that the spacecraft or launch vehicle remains stable and safe throughout the mission.
