Ultraviolet Light
Ultraviolet (UV) light is a type of electromagnetic radiation with a wavelength shorter than that of visible light, but longer than X-rays. In space and astronautical engineering, UV light is important for several reasons. It can cause damage to spacecraft materials and electronics, and can also affect the health of astronauts during spacewalks or extended missions. However, UV light can also be harnessed for beneficial purposes, such as sterilization of equipment and water purification. In addition, UV light is used in astronomy to study the properties of stars and galaxies, as well as to detect and analyze the composition of planetary atmospheres.
