Seismometers
Seismometers are instruments used to measure and record ground motion caused by earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and other seismic sources. In space and astronautical engineering, seismometers are used to study the internal structure and composition of planets and moons. Seismometers can detect seismic waves that travel through the interior of a planet or moon, providing information about its composition, density, and temperature. Seismometers have been used on several space missions, including the Apollo missions to the Moon, the Mars InSight mission, and the upcoming Europa Clipper mission to Jupiter's moon Europa.
