RNA

RNA (Ribonucleic acid) is a type of nucleic acid that is essential for the coding, decoding, regulation, and expression of genes. In space and astronautical engineering, RNA plays a crucial role in the study of the effects of microgravity on gene expression and cellular function. RNA sequencing is used to analyze changes in gene expression in response to spaceflight and to identify potential targets for countermeasures against the negative effects of spaceflight on human health. Additionally, RNA-based technologies are being developed for use in space-based biosensors and diagnostic tools.
