Network-based IDS

Network-based Intrusion Detection System (IDS) is a security technology that monitors network traffic for suspicious activity and alerts the system administrator or security team when it detects potential security threats. It analyzes network packets in real-time and compares them against a database of known attack signatures or abnormal behavior patterns. Network-based IDS can be deployed at various points in the network, such as at the perimeter, within the internal network, or at critical servers or endpoints. It can also be used in conjunction with other security technologies, such as firewalls and endpoint protection, to provide a layered defense against cyber attacks.
