Long-duration Missions

Long-duration missions refer to space missions that last for extended periods, typically more than six months. These missions require careful planning and preparation to ensure the health and safety of the crew, as well as the success of the mission objectives. Long-duration missions can be conducted on the International Space Station (ISS), on deep space exploration missions, or on missions to other planets. During these missions, crew members must deal with a range of physical and psychological challenges, including exposure to radiation, isolation, and confinement. To mitigate these challenges, spacecraft and habitats must be designed to provide adequate living space, life support systems, and communication with Earth. Crew members must also undergo extensive training to prepare for the physical and psychological demands of long-duration spaceflight.
