International Space Station

The International Space Station (ISS) is a habitable artificial satellite in low Earth orbit. It serves as a microgravity and space environment research laboratory in which scientific research is conducted in astrobiology, astronomy, meteorology, physics, and other fields. The station is a joint project between five participating space agencies: NASA, Roscosmos, JAXA, ESA, and CSA. The ISS is the largest human-made body in low Earth orbit and can often be seen with the naked eye from Earth. It has been continuously occupied since November 2000 and has been visited by astronauts and cosmonauts from 19 different countries.
