Inverter
In space and astronautical engineering, an inverter is an electronic device that converts direct current (DC) to alternating current (AC). In space missions, DC power is generated by solar panels or batteries, but most of the electrical equipment on board requires AC power to operate. Therefore, inverters are essential components of the power system of a spacecraft. Inverters are also used in electric propulsion systems, where they convert DC power from the spacecraft's power system to AC power that drives the electric thrusters.
