Infrastructure also encompasses the policies, regulations, and standards that govern the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of space systems and facilities. The development of space infrastructure is critical for enabling sustained human presence and activities in space, as well as for advancing scientific research, commercial applications, and national security interests.
