Fluid Storage
Fluid storage refers to the process of storing liquids or gases in a spacecraft or space station. In space, fluids behave differently than they do on Earth due to the absence of gravity. Therefore, fluid storage systems must be designed to account for the effects of microgravity, such as surface tension and sloshing. Fluid storage is crucial for life support systems, as well as for propulsion systems that use liquid fuel. The storage of cryogenic fluids, such as liquid oxygen and liquid hydrogen, is particularly challenging due to their extremely low temperatures. In addition, fluid storage systems must be designed to minimize the risk of leaks or spills, which could be catastrophic in the confined environment of a spacecraft or space station.
