Fiber Optic Cables


Fiber optic cables are a type of cable made up of thin strands of glass or plastic that use light to transmit data. In space and astronautical engineering, fiber optic cables are used for communication and data transmission between spacecraft, satellites, and ground stations. They are preferred over traditional copper cables because they are lighter, more durable, and can transmit data over longer distances without signal loss.
