Ecology
Ecology is the study of the interactions between living organisms and their environment. In the context of space and astronautical engineering, ecology is concerned with understanding the impact of human activities on the environment of space and the potential for space exploration to impact the ecology of other planets and celestial bodies. This includes studying the effects of rocket launches and space debris on the Earth's atmosphere and the potential for contamination of other planets with Earth-based organisms. Additionally, ecology plays a role in designing sustainable life support systems for long-duration space missions, such as recycling waste and producing food and oxygen through plant growth.
