Digital Communication
Digital communication is the process of transmitting information in the form of digital signals or data packets from one point to another. In space and astronautical engineering, digital communication is used to transmit data between spacecraft and ground stations, as well as between different spacecraft in space. Digital communication systems use various modulation techniques to encode the information onto a carrier signal, which is then transmitted through a communication channel. The receiver then demodulates the signal to recover the original information. Digital communication systems offer several advantages over analog communication systems, including higher data rates, better noise immunity, and greater flexibility in signal processing. However, they also require more complex hardware and software to implement.
