Current Drive Techniques

Current drive techniques refer to the methods used to generate and maintain plasma current in fusion devices. In a fusion reactor, plasma current is necessary to confine and heat the plasma to the temperatures required for fusion reactions to occur. Current drive techniques include both external and internal methods. External methods involve the use of external magnetic fields or waves to induce current in the plasma, while internal methods involve the injection of energetic particles into the plasma to drive current. Some common current drive techniques include neutral beam injection, electron cyclotron resonance heating, and lower hybrid current drive.
