Concorde
Concorde was a supersonic passenger airliner that operated from 1976 to 2003. It was jointly developed and produced by France and the United Kingdom. Concorde had a maximum speed over twice the speed of sound at Mach 2.04 (1,354 mph or 2,180 km/h at cruise altitude) and could travel at a height of up to 60,000 feet (18,000 m). It was primarily used for transatlantic flights between London, Paris, and New York City. Due to its high cost of operation and maintenance, as well as a decline in passenger numbers following the 2000 crash, Concorde was retired in 2003.
