Cognitive Enhancement

Cognitive Enhancement refers to the use of various techniques, methods, or substances to improve cognitive functions such as memory, attention, creativity, and problem-solving abilities. In the context of space and astronautical engineering, cognitive enhancement can be used to improve the performance of astronauts during long-duration space missions. This can include the use of drugs, such as modafinil or methylphenidate, to improve alertness and concentration, or the use of cognitive training programs to enhance cognitive abilities. Cognitive enhancement can also involve the use of neurotechnologies, such as transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) or transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS), to stimulate or modulate brain activity. The goal of cognitive enhancement is to improve the efficiency and safety of space missions, as well as to enhance the overall well-being of astronauts during space travel.
