Cleanroom

Cleanroom is a controlled environment that is designed to minimize the presence of airborne particles and other contaminants that can adversely affect the manufacturing or assembly of spacecraft components. The air inside a cleanroom is constantly filtered and circulated to remove particles, and personnel must wear special clothing to prevent the introduction of contaminants. Cleanrooms are essential for the production of sensitive spacecraft components, such as microchips, sensors, and optics, which can be easily damaged or rendered ineffective by even small amounts of dust or other particles. Cleanrooms are also used for the assembly of spacecraft and their subsystems, such as propulsion systems and communication equipment, to ensure that they are free from contaminants that could cause malfunctions or failures during operation.
