Carrier Wave


In space and astronautical engineering, a carrier wave refers to a type of electromagnetic wave that is modulated with an information-bearing signal to carry information from one place to another. It is used in various communication systems, including satellite communication, radio communication, and radar systems. The carrier wave is typically a high-frequency sine wave, and the information-bearing signal is added to it by modulating its amplitude, frequency, or phase.
