
Carbonization
Carbonization is the process of converting organic materials into carbon or a carbon-containing residue through pyrolysis or destructive distillation. In the context of space and astronautical engineering, carbonization is an important process for the production of carbon-based materials that are used in various applications such as spacecraft components, thermal protection systems, and rocket nozzles.
