Aerodynamic Forces

Aerodynamic forces are the forces exerted on a spacecraft or aircraft by the air or gas in which it is traveling. These forces include lift, drag, thrust, and weight. Lift is the force that opposes gravity and keeps the spacecraft or aircraft in the air. Drag is the force that opposes the forward motion of the spacecraft or aircraft and is caused by friction and pressure differences. Thrust is the force that propels the spacecraft or aircraft forward. Weight is the force of gravity acting on the spacecraft or aircraft. Understanding and controlling aerodynamic forces is crucial for designing and operating spacecraft and aircraft.
