Vernal Equinox

Vernal Equinox is the moment when the Sun appears to cross the celestial equator, heading northward. In other words, it is the point in time when the length of day and night are almost equal. This event occurs twice a year, around March 20-21 in the Northern Hemisphere and September 22-23 in the Southern Hemisphere. In space and astronautical engineering, the Vernal Equinox is an important reference point for celestial navigation and satellite positioning. It is used as a reference for determining the position of a satellite in orbit relative to the Earth's equator and for calculating the angle between the satellite and the Sun. This information is crucial for maintaining the correct orientation and trajectory of a satellite.
