Ventilation Systems
Ventilation systems are an essential component of spacecraft and space habitats, providing a means of circulating air and removing contaminants to maintain a safe and habitable environment for crew members. These systems typically consist of a network of ducts, fans, filters, and sensors that work together to regulate temperature, humidity, and air quality. In addition to providing breathable air, ventilation systems also play a critical role in managing carbon dioxide levels, controlling odors, and preventing the buildup of harmful gases and particles. Due to the unique challenges of operating in space, ventilation systems must be designed to operate reliably in microgravity, withstand extreme temperatures and radiation, and minimize power consumption and noise. Advanced technologies such as regenerative life support systems and closed-loop air circulation systems are being developed to further improve the efficiency and sustainability of ventilation systems in space.
