
Unix Time
Unix time is a system for describing a point in time as the number of seconds that have elapsed since 00:00:00 Coordinated Universal Time (UTC), Thursday, 1 January 1970, not counting leap seconds. It is widely used in computer systems and applications, including those related to space and astronautical engineering, as a standard way of representing time. Unix time is also known as Epoch time.
