RFI Mitigation Techniques
RFI (Radio Frequency Interference) Mitigation Techniques refer to the methods and strategies used to reduce or eliminate the impact of unwanted electromagnetic signals on the performance of space and astronautical systems. RFI can cause significant disruptions to communication, navigation, and other critical functions of spacecraft and satellites. Mitigation techniques include shielding, filtering, frequency hopping, and adaptive interference cancellation. Shielding involves the use of conductive materials to block or reduce the amount of RFI that reaches sensitive components. Filtering involves the use of electronic components to remove unwanted frequencies from signals. Frequency hopping involves rapidly changing the frequency of a signal to avoid interference. Adaptive interference cancellation involves using algorithms to identify and cancel out unwanted signals. These techniques are critical for ensuring the reliable operation of space and astronautical systems in the presence of RFI.
