Spent Rocket Stages
Spent rocket stages refer to the sections of a rocket that have completed their job and are no longer needed. These stages are typically jettisoned during the launch process and fall back to Earth or are directed to burn up in the atmosphere. Spent rocket stages can pose a hazard to people and the environment if they land in populated areas or bodies of water. To mitigate this risk, engineers design rockets to minimize the amount of debris that reaches the ground. Additionally, some rockets are designed to be partially or fully reusable, which reduces the amount of debris generated during a launch.
