Signal Conditioning

Signal conditioning is the process of manipulating an analog signal in order to prepare it for further processing or conversion to a digital signal. This can include amplification, filtering, offsetting, and scaling. In the context of space and astronautical engineering, signal conditioning is often used to prepare signals from sensors or instruments on spacecraft or satellites for transmission back to Earth. This can involve amplifying weak signals, filtering out noise or interference, and adjusting the signal level to match the input range of the receiving equipment. Signal conditioning is critical for ensuring accurate and reliable data transmission in space missions.
