SAR
SAR stands for Synthetic Aperture Radar. It is a type of radar that uses microwave signals to create high-resolution images of the Earth's surface. SAR works by transmitting a signal towards the ground and then measuring the signal that is reflected back. By analyzing the time delay and phase shift of the reflected signal, SAR can create detailed images of the terrain, even in areas where cloud cover or other obstacles would normally obscure the view. SAR is used for a variety of applications, including mapping, environmental monitoring, and military surveillance. It is particularly useful for monitoring changes in the Earth's surface over time, such as the movement of glaciers or the growth of urban areas.
