Regenerable Sorbents
Regenerable sorbents are materials used to remove and recover specific gases or vapors from a gas stream in space applications. These sorbents can be regenerated by heating or other means, allowing them to be reused multiple times. Regenerable sorbents are commonly used in spacecraft life support systems to remove carbon dioxide and other contaminants from the air. They are also used in space suits to remove moisture and carbon dioxide from exhaled air. The development of regenerable sorbents has been critical for long-duration space missions, as it reduces the need for resupply missions and decreases the overall cost of space exploration.
