Polar Orbit


Polar orbit is a type of orbit that takes a satellite or spacecraft over the Earth's poles. In this orbit, the satellite passes over the North and South Poles on each orbit. Polar orbits are commonly used for Earth observation, remote sensing, and mapping missions. The advantage of a polar orbit is that it allows the satellite to cover the entire surface of the Earth, including the poles, on each orbit. This makes it ideal for missions that require global coverage, such as weather forecasting, climate monitoring, and environmental studies. Polar orbits are also used for some types of communication and navigation satellites. However, polar orbits require more energy to achieve than equatorial orbits, and they may not be suitable for all types of missions.
