Plating Solution
Plating solution is a liquid mixture used in the process of electroplating, which involves the deposition of a thin layer of metal onto a conductive surface. The solution contains dissolved metal ions and other chemicals that facilitate the electroplating process, such as reducing agents, complexing agents, and pH adjusters. The composition of the plating solution depends on the type of metal being deposited and the desired properties of the plated surface, such as corrosion resistance, wear resistance, or conductivity. Plating solutions can be formulated for a variety of metals, including gold, silver, copper, nickel, chromium, and zinc. The electroplating process is widely used in the aerospace industry for coating components with protective or functional layers, such as thermal barriers, lubricants, or electrical contacts.
