Phase Modulation
Phase Modulation (PM) is a method of modulating a radio frequency carrier signal by varying the phase of the signal in response to the modulating signal. In PM, the amplitude and frequency of the carrier signal remain constant, but the phase angle changes in proportion to the modulating signal. This results in a signal that is more resistant to noise and interference than amplitude modulation (AM) signals. PM is commonly used in satellite communications, digital audio broadcasting, and some types of radar systems.
