Amplitude Modulation
Amplitude Modulation (AM) is a modulation technique used in communication systems to transmit information through a carrier wave by varying the amplitude of the wave. In AM, the amplitude of the carrier wave is varied in proportion to the message signal being transmitted. The resulting modulated signal contains the original message signal and two sidebands, one above and one below the carrier frequency. AM is widely used in radio broadcasting, where the carrier wave frequency is in the radio frequency range. However, AM has a lower bandwidth efficiency compared to other modulation techniques, and is susceptible to noise and interference.
