Peltier Effect

The Peltier effect is the phenomenon of heating or cooling at a junction of two different conductors when an electric current is passed through it. In space and astronautical engineering, the Peltier effect is used in thermoelectric generators to convert heat into electricity and vice versa. This effect is also used in spacecraft thermal control systems to regulate the temperature of electronic components and other equipment. The Peltier effect is an important concept in the design of spacecraft power systems and thermal management systems.
