
Orbit Types
Orbit Types refer to the different paths that a spacecraft can take around a celestial body. There are several types of orbits, including circular, elliptical, polar, geostationary, and heliocentric. A circular orbit is when a spacecraft travels around a celestial body in a circular path. An elliptical orbit is when a spacecraft travels around a celestial body in an oval-shaped path. A polar orbit is when a spacecraft passes over the north and south poles of a celestial body. A geostationary orbit is when a spacecraft orbits the Earth at the same rate that the Earth rotates, allowing it to remain in a fixed position above a specific location on the Earth's surface. A heliocentric orbit is when a spacecraft orbits the sun. Each type of orbit has its own advantages and disadvantages, and is chosen based on the mission objectives and requirements.
