Optical Telescopes


Optical telescopes are instruments that use lenses or mirrors to collect and focus visible light from distant objects in space. They are designed to capture and magnify the light emitted by celestial bodies, allowing astronomers to study their properties and behavior. Optical telescopes come in a variety of sizes and designs, from small refracting telescopes to large reflecting telescopes with segmented mirrors. Optical telescopes are often equipped with additional instruments, such as spectrographs and cameras, to analyze the light they collect in more detail.
