NGDC

NGDC stands for National Geophysical Data Center, which is a part of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) of the United States. It is responsible for managing and providing access to a wide range of geophysical data, including data related to the Earth's magnetic field, solar-terrestrial physics, and marine geology and geophysics. The NGDC also maintains a comprehensive archive of data related to natural hazards, such as earthquakes, tsunamis, and volcanic eruptions, and provides support for research and education in these areas. In the context of space and astronautical engineering, the NGDC's data and services are used by scientists and engineers to better understand the Earth's environment and to develop technologies and strategies for space exploration and utilization.
