NEO

NEO stands for Near-Earth Object. It refers to any small Solar System body whose orbit brings it into proximity with Earth. NEOs are composed mostly of rock, but can also include metallic or icy components. They can range in size from meters to tens of kilometers. NEOs are of interest to space and astronautical engineers because they pose a potential threat to Earth if they were to collide with our planet. Therefore, studying NEOs and their orbits is important for developing strategies to mitigate the risk of impact. Additionally, NEOs could be potential targets for future space exploration missions, as they are relatively close to Earth and could provide valuable information about the early Solar System.
