NCAR

NCAR stands for National Center for Atmospheric Research, which is a federally funded research and development center devoted to service, research, and education in the atmospheric and related sciences. NCAR conducts research in various fields such as climate, weather, air quality, solar-terrestrial interactions, and societal impacts of weather and climate. The center also develops and maintains advanced computer models and simulations to study the Earth's atmosphere and its interactions with the oceans, land, and biosphere. NCAR provides scientific support to various organizations such as the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) for their atmospheric research programs. The center also offers educational programs and resources to students, teachers, and the general public to increase awareness and understanding of atmospheric science.
