Mountain And Valley Breezes
Mountain and valley breezes are local winds that occur in mountainous areas. During the day, the sun heats up the mountain slopes faster than the valley below, causing the air to rise and flow up the mountain. This is known as a valley breeze. At night, the mountain slopes cool down faster than the valley, causing the air to flow down the mountain and into the valley. This is known as a mountain breeze. These breezes can have an impact on the local weather and can also affect flying conditions for aircraft in the area.
